  • The Plough Inn, Caldecott 2024 Winter Pub of the Season Friday 10 May 2024


    At our May branch meeting the results of our members votes revealed the popular Plough Inn at Caldecott as the worthy winner of our Winter Pub of the Season. Many congratulations to Gene, Debbie and the team and we will announce details of the presentation here shortly.

    Commiserations are extended to our two runners up the Blue Bell, Belmesthorpe and the White Lion, Whissendine.

  • 2024 Winter Pub of the Season - the contenders Friday 12 April 2024

    Congratulations to
    The Blue Bell, Belmesthorpe
    The Plough Inn, Caldecott
    &
    The White Lion, Whissendine
    who have achieved the highest average beer scores recorded by CAMRA members for the period January to March and are therefore on the shortlist for our seasonal award.
    Rutland CAMRA members are encouraged to vote for their Winter Pub of the Season by emailing ku.gro.armac.dnaltur@yraterces with the name of their chosen pub and their membership number. Voting closes 4/5/24.

  • The Railway, Ketton - Rutland CAMRA Pub of the Year Friday 15 March 2024


    At our March branch meeting the results of our POTY competition were announced
    In a very close contest the excellent Railway in Ketton just pipped the Wheatsheaf with the Exeter Arms, Uppingham a close third.
    Many congratulations to Jamie and Looby on winning the award and thanks on behalf of Rutland CAMRA for running such a great pub.

  • 2024 Rutland CAMRA Beer Festival June 21-23 IT'S ON!! Monday 19 February 2024

    Delighted to formally announce our 11th Beer Festival will take place Friday 21 to Sunday 23 June at The County Museum in Oakham. Our first planning meeting is this Thursday 22nd February starting at 7:30pm at the Lord Nelson in Oakham, if you’d like to get involved please do come along.

  • Our Autumn Pub of the Season - The Wheatsheaf, Oakham Friday 9 February 2024


    At our February branch meeting the results of our members votes revealed Oakham’s Wheatsheaf as the very worthy winner of our Autumn Pub of the Season.
    Many congratulations to Dan and the team and we look forward to presenting the award on Wednesday 14th February 6:30pm.

  • Rutland Pubs offering CAMRA discount Sunday 4 February 2024

    A number of our pubs offer discounts to CAMRA members or accept the 50p vouchers

    In Oakham The Lord Nelson offers 15% and Jinky’s offers 20% off of the price of a pint of real ale on showing a valid CAMRA membership card.

    The Captain Noel Newton, The Grainstore Brewery Tap in Oakham and The Plough Greetham accept CAMRA 50p discount vouchers.

    The Green Dragon in Ryhall offers 30p off the price of a pint to CAMRA members.

    Rutland CAMRA are very appreciative of these discounts and thank all of the pubs involved.

  • Baker's Dozen and Grainstore win Regional CAMRA Awards Thursday 18 January 2024

    Once again we're delighted and very proud to announce that both of our Rutland breweries have won awards in CAMRA's Champion Beer of East Midlands competition.

    Bakers Dozen Brewing Co. won Gold for Electric Landlady in the Premium Pale, Blonde and Golden Ales category, winning gold means that Electric Landlady will again go forward to the 2024 National .Judging for Champion Beer of Britain !!!

    This success follows another string of awards received at the recent SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers Association) presentations, Full details can be found here Bakers Dozen PR - Golds Galore !

    The Grainstore won Silver for Rutland Beast in the Red Ales, Brown Ales, Old Ales & Strong Milds category.

    Congratulations to both our Rutland breweries on winning awards in CAMRA's 2023 Champion Beer of East Midlands competition.
